Panda Express Branch Discriminates against Hispanic Employees

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed suit against a Panda Express branch restaurant in San Jose last week alleging that the restaurant is discriminating against Hispanic workers in favor of Asian employees.

Latino employees were given fewer hours and assigned more menial tasks, including cleaning the bathrooms while Asian employees stood around and watched. Additionally, Hispanic employees were punished more severely and more often than Asian employees.

Employer discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, and gender is a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and can lead to civil liability for the employer. If you are a victim of discrimination by your employer, you can contact our law offices or the EEOC.
